Description
The Department of Surgery at Brown University is delighted to announce the recruitment of a Division Chief of Surgical Oncology. This Division Chief will report to the Chair of the Department of Surgery. The division contains sections of Hepato-pancreaticobiliary surgery, breast surgery and endocrine surgery. Surgeons in the division also perform surgery for skin cancers, soft tissue tumors, and upper GI cancers. We work closely with medical oncology and radiation oncology to provide multidisciplinary cancer care across 5 surgical hospitals. A leadership role in the cancer center is also possible.

Requirements
Minimum requirements include board certification in general surgery and/or complex general surgical oncology, with completion of an appropriate fellowship. The successful applicant has a national reputation and clinical strength in surgical oncology. The applicant should have a strong record in education and peer reviewed publication with proven experience in administration and leadership. The applicant must meet the requirements to be eligible for appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor of Surgery in the Research Scholar or Teaching Scholar tracks at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University to include an established record of scholarly achievements and publications with a national or international reputation. Highly desirable attributes include involvement in national or international committees and relevant professional societies, and a track record of an administrative role at a major medical institution. A strong research track record is preferred.
