Lymphoedema and Surgical Physiotherapy is a breast cancer and lymphoedema focussed clinic located within Integrated Cancer Centre of the Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAH) Wahroonga, NSW.
The SAN Integrated Cancer Centre has been ranked number one in NSW for the past 7 years by the annual outpatient cancer clinic survey, we are a proud member of this team.
The clinic offers end-to-end care for clients with lymphoedema or those receiving breast cancer treatment. The clinics primary focus is to prevent lymphoedema implementing evidence-based practice. We are a well-resourced and equipped clinic, we have excellent diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, and staff are supported in professional development activities both on and off site. Our team works very closely with each other and the hospitals multidisciplinary breast team.
Requirements
Role Description
The successful applicant will care for clients with lymphoedema and/or undergoing breast cancer or other cancer treatment, they must be confident in garment prescription. Full-time and Part-time positions are available.
The role involves
Pre- and post-operative assessment,
Addressing underlying musculoskeletal/scar/soft tissue etc issues in readiness for radiation treatment
Identification of high risk patients for surveillance
Identification of early lymphoedema and following through with care plan
Assessment, treatment and management of lymphoedema including patient education, compression bandaging and garment prescription
Assisting clients to work towards managing their lymphoedema independently
Use Cliniko platform for client bookings and note taking
NSW Enable scheme use for patients with chronic lymphoedema
Working collaboratively with other clinic staff including office manager, other therapists and members of the multidisciplinary team
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and current registration with APHRA
Lymphoedema qualification
Preferably accredited with ALA
Confident in garment prescription and measurement
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Able to maintain accurate clinical records and adhering to professional standards
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a clinical setting
Hold professional indemnity insurance
