Oregon outpatient upper extremity clinic seeking quality hand therapist.
Upper Hand Orthopaedics was established in 2012 by Dr. Peter Tsai to better serve those in need of specialized hand and upper extremity care from the Cascades to the Coast. Located in Corvallis, home of Oregon State University, we are one hour from the ocean and one hour from the Cascade mountains. Our practice specializes in all hand and elbow matters, from nonoperative management to surgery and aftercare. Whether you’re a musician, athlete, gardener, or were injured on the job, we will not only help diagnose your problem, but we’ll also help to get you back to what you love. The practice currently has two Certified Hand Therapists onsite to provide excellent care to all non-surgical and surgical diagnoses emphasizing the best functional outcome for the patient.
The ideal candidate will be a Certified Hand Therapists with a strong independent knowledge of post-operative protocols, skilled in orthotic fabrication for all post-operative diagnoses, able to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and improve patients' functional abilities, collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff to coordinate patient care, strong interpersonal skills to educate patients on therapeutic techniques and strategies
Minimum qualifications would be an Occupational or Physical therapist with three years of experience, one year in a hand therapy clinic with the goal of sitting for the Hand Therapy Certification examination.
Requirements
Formal training: a Bachelor of Science degree, or higher, in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution; current State licensure or eligibility; certification by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission preferred, high level orthotics proficiency, excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with members of the medical team, patients and families. Proficient in electronic medical records and computer documentation.
