MD West ONE, in partnership with Methodist Health System, is seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Hospitalist to join our growing team in Omaha, NE. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a program designed to deliver exceptional, patient-centered musculoskeletal care across the region.

Requirements
- Medical degree (MD/DO) with residency in orthopedics, orthopedic surgery, or relevant acute-care specialty.
- Active Nebraska medical license (or ability to obtain).
- Strong clinical experience in acute orthopedic injury management.
- Proficiency in standard orthopedic procedures: joint reductions, splinting/casting, wound care, soft tissue injury management.
- Ability to work independently and make rapid disposition decisions aligned with triage guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with ER, hospitalist teams, and orthopedic subspecialists.
DUTIES:
- Provide same-day or next-day inpatient consults for all Tier 3 admissions.
- Provide telehealth consults when appropriate to support ER disposition and avoid unnecessary transfers.
- Determine whether cases can be:
Discharged with orthopedic follow-up
Admitted for medical reasons but remain in a Tier 3 pathway
Escalated to a higher tier (Tier 2, Tier 1) based on clinical change
- Perform closed reductions, splinting, immobilization, and related non-operative treatments.
- Ensure accurate, thorough documentation of injury classification, treatment plan, and follow-up protocol.
- Ensure all patients discharged from ER receive rapid follow-up scheduling (via QLIQ process) with MD West ONE.
- Communicate findings and plans clearly to ER providers, hospitalists, and nursing teams.
