Description

Must have completed or will complete an accredited surgical Vitreo-Retina fellowship.
Founded more than 80 years ago, Wheaton Eye Clinic is a nationally recognized multi-subspecialty ophthalmology practice that spans the western suburbs of Chicago with offices in six locations and an ophthalmology-specific ambulatory surgery center (ASC). Wheaton Eye Clinic currently has 38 ophthalmologists covering every ophthalmic subspecialty, including five retina specialists, three of whom are currently performing retinal surgery.
Dedicated to our mission of providing exceptional eye care, our ophthalmologists are highly respected in the region and have superb relationships with referring colleagues and health systems. Delivering care from primary to tertiary levels, Wheaton Eye Clinic doctors perform 180,000 patient visits annually.
Wheaton Eye Clinic is owned and operated by its physicians. The retina specialist position is a partnership track offer that provides additional ownership opportunities in associated real estate and other corporations in due course. Because our growth strategy is based on cultivating vibrant practices for our young colleagues, the salary structure is extremely favorable to junior physicians. Due to our practice growth, expansion, and physician retirements, recently hired ophthalmologists have been busy in the first year with consults, surgery, and patient visits.
The on-site ASC is exceptionally efficient with a dedicated retina operating room equipped with an Alcon Constellation unit, Alcon surgical equipment, and a Zeiss operating microscope. The staff is expertly trained in retina surgery.
An excellent compensation/benefit package including malpractice insurance, health and dental insurance, long-term disability insurance, reimbursement for CME, and 401(k) is provided.
Interested applicants should submit a CV and cover letter to Rosemary Cechura at Rcechura@wheatoneye.com
