The Department of Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), is seeking a board certified/eligible, fellowship-trained, academic surgical oncologist. The successful applicant will have demonstrated strong clinical capabilities in managing pancreatobiliary malignancies with a proficiency in robotic approaches. A demonstrated aptitude for multidisciplinary collaboration is critical. Responsibilities will include teaching of medical students and surgery residents, clinical and/or basic research, as well as patient care. Experienced candidates are preferred, but new fellowship graduates with exceptional promise will be considered. Appointment as Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Applicants from communities traditionally underrepresented in medicine are especially encouraged.
In addition, the Department of Surgery will be engaged in the newly announced and exciting clinical collaboration between Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), BIDMC, and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England’s only free-standing adult inpatient cancer hospital. The collaboration will bring together world-class clinicians to deliver transformational, precision medicine in an environment solely dedicated to defying cancer.
