Description
The Department of Surgery at the Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons, of Columbia University is recruiting a pediatric surgeon to join our active and growing team at the NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. Interested applicants should show exceptional promise for academic achievement and be committed to a robust clinical practice within a dynamic academic medical center.
Additional responsibilities include participation in the academic and research missions of the University and the Department of Surgery in accordance with our compliance and excellence in quality care programs, to include active participation in the education medical students, residents and fellows.
Responsibilities:
Patient care, including operative and non-operative care of pediatric surgical patients.
Clinical visits at one or more of our office locations and performing both ambulatory and in- patient procedures.
Participate in on-call coverage.
Participate in clinical and/or basic science research.
Participate in compliance and quality care programs of the University and of the Department of Surgery.
Additional clinical duties may be included based on programmatic needs and interests.
Qualifications
Candidates for the position must be American Board of Surgery certified/eligible and must be licensed to practice or eligible for a license in the States of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut with the training to qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and academic qualifications. A board-eligible surgeon would be appointed at the Instructor rank until board certied.
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
