Description
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall strategic, operational, financial, and clinical leadership of the medical clinic and ambulatory surgery center. The CEO works collaboratively with the Board of Directors, executive leadership team, physicians, and staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and organizational growth. This position provides vision, leadership, and direction to support the clinic’s mission, values, and long-term success.
The CEO is accountable for creating a culture of excellence, employee engagement, operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, and continuous improvement in a healthcare environment.
Requirements
- Develop and execute the clinic’s strategic vision, goals, and organizational priorities.
- Partner with the Board of Directors to implement long-term planning initiatives and growth strategies.
- Identify opportunities for service expansion, operational improvements, and community partnerships.
- Promote innovation and organizational effectiveness to meet changing healthcare demands.
- Oversee day-to-day clinic operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and patient-centered care.
- Ensure departments operate effectively to support clinical, financial, and administrative goals.
- Establish and monitor organizational performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure adequate staffing, operational workflows, and resource allocation.
- Provide oversight of the clinic’s financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue cycle performance.
- Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to improve profitability and operational sustainability.
- Collaborate with finance leadership to ensure sound fiscal management and compliance.
- Evaluate opportunities for cost containment and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, Medicare/Medicaid, and accreditation standards.
- Promote quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Support providers and clinical teams in maintaining high standards of care.
- Foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, employee engagement, and service excellence.
- Lead, mentor, and support executive and departmental leadership teams.
- Promote effective communication across all levels of the organization.
- Support recruitment, retention, succession planning, and professional development initiatives.
- Serve as the primary representative of the clinic within the community and healthcare industry.
- Build and maintain relationships with physicians, healthcare partners, vendors, and community organizations.
- Direct negotiation with insurance companies.
- Strengthen the clinic’s reputation and patient experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Finance, or related field required.
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare administration, preferably in a medical clinic, ambulatory care, or physician practice setting.
- Demonstrated experience in operational leadership, financial management, and strategic planning.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, and reimbursement models.
- Proven leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent financial acumen and budgeting experience.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to build strong relationships with physicians, staff, board members, and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and organizational excellence.
