The University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time faculty position of Faculty Open Rank (Non-Tenure Track) in the Department of Oral Biology. As a nationally recognized leader in oral health education, patient-centered clinical care, and evidence-based research, the College is committed to advancing excellence in dental education and healthcare.
The College of Dentistry is the largest oral health college in the State of Illinois, provides care for 35,000 patients a year, and has over 500 students seeking dental degrees including DMD, PhD and master’s programs.
The Department of Oral Biology seeks a highly qualified individual to advance the college’s educational mission in general pathology, oral pathology, and oral medicine. This position will play a key role in the clinical management of patients with complex oral medicine conditions while providing instruction and mentorship to students in the diagnosis and treatment of these cases. Additional responsibilities include promoting an innovative blended-learning environment that complements the college’s Small Group Learning predoctoral curriculum and serving as a clinical content expert for specialty training programs. The successful candidate will contribute to excellence in teaching, patient care, and curriculum development across all areas of oral medicine education.

The budgeted salary range for the position is $130,000 to $200,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications, and experience, while also considering internal equity.

Requirements
Candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree or its foreign equivalent, must have completed specialty training in Oral Medicine in the U.S. and must have an active dental license and/or qualifications for a restricted faculty license. The successful candidate should have a minimum of five years of teaching experience with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship, scholarship, and service. Certification by the American Board of Oral Medicine is highly preferred.
